Minister Bruton signs new Statutory Instruments

The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mr. Richard Bruton T.D., has recently signed into effect a number of Employment Rights and Industrial Relations related Orders and Regulations, as outlined below:

Workplace Relations Act 2015 (Commencement) Order 2015 (SI 338 of 2015)

This SI appoints 1st August 2015 as the date on which certain provisions of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 (No. 16 of 2015) shall come into effect.

National Minimum Wage (Low Pay Commission) Act 2015 (Section 20) (Commencement) Order 2015 (SI 340 of 2015)

This Statutory Instrument appoints the 1st day of August 2015 as the day upon which paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section 20 of the National Minimum Wage (Low Pay Commission) Act 2015 (No. 22 of 2015), shall come into operation.

Organisation of Working Time (Non-application of Certain Provisions to Persons Performing Mobile Road Transport Activities) Regulations 2015 (SI 342 of 2015)

The purpose of SI 342 of 2015, made under Sections 3(3), 7 and 25 of the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997, is to clarify the law regarding organisation of working time and mobile transport workers. It removes mobile transport workers, as defined in Directive 2002/15/EC, from scope of Sections 11, 12, 13, 15 and 16 of the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997. It also removes mobile transport workers from scope of S.I. No. 473 of 2001 which prescribes the form in which records required to be kept under the Organisation of Working Time Act should be held.

Industrial Relations Act 1969 (Section 3 A) Order 2015 (SI 344 of 2015)

This Statutory Instrument prescribes certain functions of the Labour Court for the purpose of section 3A (inserted by section 78 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 (No. 16 of 2015)) of the Industrial Relations Act of 1969.

 Employment Permits (Amendment) Regulations 2015 (SI 349 of 2015)

This Statutory Instrument introduces Regulations under the Employment Permits Acts, Employment Permits Regulations 2015 (SI 432 of 2014), and the Employment Permits (Trusted Partner) Regulations 2015 (SI 172 of 2015), and comes into operation on 1st September 2015.
