Date of Adjudication Hearing: 09/09/2026
Workplace Relations Commission Adjudication Officer: Thomas O'Driscoll
Procedure:
In accordance Section 25 of the Equal Status Act, 2000 following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint. This matter was to be heard by way of remote hearing pursuant to the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 and SI 359/20206, which designated the Workplace Relations Commission as a body empowered to hold remote hearings.
Background:
The Complainant sought adjudication of a complaint under section 21 of the Equal Status Act in a complaint received by the Workplace Relations Commission on 26 June 2025. |
Summary of Complainant’s Case:
The Complainant did not login to the remote the hearing though I am satisfied she had full details of the arrangements. |
Summary of Respondent’s Case:
The Respondent logged in to the hearing. |
Findings and Conclusions:
The Complainant did not login to the remote hearing though I am satisfied she had full details of the arrangements. I find that she was not discriminated against by the Respondent, due to a lack of evidence. |
Decision:
Section 25 of the Equal Status Acts, 2000 – 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under section 27 of that Act.
The Complainant did not login to the remote hearing though I am satisfied she had full details of the arrangements. I therefore find that she was not discriminated against by the Respondent, due to a lack of evidence. |
