Procedure:
In accordance with Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act, 2015 following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint. The Complainant was sworn in at the commencement of the hearing.
Summary of Complainant’s Case:
The Complainant states that she was employed by the Respondent on 1 September 2025 as a waitress. The Respondent‘s business involves the hospitality and catering trade. The Complainant states that she worked the following roster without getting any breaks; 1 Sept : 10.30 to 5:30 2 Sept : 8 to 5 3 Sept : 8 to 5 4 Sept : 8 to 5.15 8 Sept : 10 to 3 11 Sept : 8 to 5 The Complainant provided documentary evidence to substantiate her attendance and work duties carried out as above. The Complainant states that despite being informed that she would get paid every two weeks, the Respondent did not pay the Complainant’s wages and she had no option but to leave the company due to the unfair treatment. |

The Respondent did not attend the hearing. |
Findings and Conclusions:
I find that the Complainant has established that the Respondent is in contravention of the Payment of Wages Act. I find that the within complaint is well-founded. I order the Respondent to pay the Complainant €650 in wages owing to her. |
Decision:
Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under Schedule 6 of that Act.
