Procedure:
In accordance with Section 39 of the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967 - 2014 following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint.
Although I am satisfied that both parties were aware of the time and date of the hearing, neither one attended on the day.
Background:
In his complaint form to the WRC, the Complainant stated that he did not receive the statutory redundancy payment that he was entitled to following the cessation of trading by the Respondent on 31 October 2025. |

Although I am satisfied that he was aware of the time and date of the hearing, the Complainant did not attend the hearing to give evidence |

As the Complainant did not attend the hearing to give evidence, I do not allow the appeal |
Decision:
Section 39 of the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967 – 2012 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under that Act.
I do not allow the appeal for the reasons set out above. |
