Workplace Relations Commission Adjudication Officer: Orla Jones
Date of Hearing: 03/07/2026
Procedure:
In accordance with Section 13 of the Industrial Relations Acts 1969 following the referral of the dispute to me by the Director General, I inquired into the dispute and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the dispute.
Background:
The worker referred complaints against the above employer on 25th of May 2025. As required by the Act and, as part of my investigation, I proceeded to a hearing on the 3rd of July 2025. On the day of the hearing, the worker was not in attendance. The employer attended the hearing as scheduled.

Summary of Worker’s Case:
The worker was not in attendance |
Summary of Employer’s Case:
The employer attended the hearing as scheduled. |
Findings and Conclusions:
As part of my investigation I am obliged to hold a hearing. I am satisfied that both parties received notification of the hearing arrangements. I find that the worker's failure to attend such a hearing was unreasonable in the circumstances. As no evidence was given at the hearing in support of the allegations made I do not find in favour of the worker in respect of this dispute. |
Decision:
Section 13 of the Industrial Relations Acts, 1969 requires that I make a recommendation in relation to the dispute.
I do not recommend in favour of the worker. |
