Workplace Relations Commission Adjudication Officer: Bríd Deering
Date of Hearing: 21/07/2026
Procedure:
In accordance with s. 13 of the Industrial Relations Act, 1969 (as amended) following the referral of the dispute to me by the Director General, I gave the parties an opportunity to be heard and to present any information relevant to the dispute.
Background:
The Worker referred a dispute to the Workplace Relations Commission on 21 October 2025 under the Industrial Relations Act, 1969. The complaint form referred to a dismissal alleged to have taken place on 10 October 2025. |
Summary of Worker’s Case:
The Worker failed to attend the hearing. |
Summary of Employer’s Case:
The Employer did not attend the hearing. The Employer wrote to the WRC on 2 June 2026 outlining it was not agreeable to engaging in an investigation as it does not agree there is a trade dispute in being. |
Conclusions:
In conducting my investigation, I have taken into account all relevant submissions presented to me by the parties. I am satisfied the Worker was notified of the date, time and place of the hearing, but failed to attend the hearing. In the circumstances, I do not recommend concession of the Worker’s claim. |
Recommendation:
Section 13 of the Industrial Relations Act, 1969 requires that I make a recommendation in relation to the dispute.
I do not recommend concession of the Worker’s claim. |
