Procedure:
In accordance with Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act, 2015 and Section 39 of the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967 - 2014following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaints and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaints.
Background:
In his complaint form to the WRC, the Complainant stated that he started work as a Dry Cleaner with the Respondent on 1 April 2015. He stated that although the Respondent went into liquidation on 31 January 2024, he did not receive the redundancy pay to which he was entitled. |

The Complainant did not attend on the day of the hearing to give evidence in relation to the complaints. |

Findings and Conclusions:
CA-00071909-001: As the Complainant did not attend on the day of the hearing to give evidence in relation to the complaint, I do not allow this appeal. CA-00071909-002: As the Complainant did not attend on the day of the hearing to give evidence in relation to the complaint, I find that this complaint is not well founded. |
Decision:
Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under Schedule 6 of that Act.
Section 39 of the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967 – 2012 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under that Act.
CA-00071909-001: I do not allow this appeal for the reason set out above. CA-00071909-002: I find that this complaint is not well founded for the reason set out above. |
