Complaint seeking adjudication by the Workplace Relations Commission under section 6 of the Payment of Wages Act, 1991 | CA-00078110-001 | 01/12/2025 |
Date of Adjudication Hearing: 28/07/2026
Workplace Relations Commission Adjudication Officer: Catherine Byrne
Procedure:
This complaint was submitted to the WRC on December 1st 2025 and, in accordance with section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act, it was assigned to me by the Director General. A hearing was arranged for July 28th 2026 at 9.00am, for the parties to present evidence in respect of the complaint. When the hearing opened, the complainant, Mr Laurence van der Linde, was not in attendance and no one attended to represent his former employer, Qualoo (Singapore) PTE Limited. Although both parties were notified on May 14th 2026 of the date and time of the hearing, it was not surprising that they did not attend. The complainant is a Dutch national and lives in the Netherlands. His employer is a Singaporean entity and, although there is a company in Ireland with a similar name, the complainant was not employed in Ireland.
Decision:
Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under Schedule 6 of that Act.
In the circumstances in which neither party attended the hearing and, in the absence of any evidence to the contrary having been submitted, I must conclude that this complaint is not well-founded and I decide accordingly.

Key Words: Neither party attended the hearing.
