Complaint seeking adjudication by the Workplace Relations Commission under Section 21 Equal Status Act, 2000 | CA-00069577-001 | 24/02/2025 |
Date of Adjudication Hearing: 26/08/2025
Workplace Relations Commission Adjudication Officer: Thomas O'Driscoll
Procedure:
In accordance with Section 25 of the Equal Status Act, 2000, following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint. I am reasonably satisfied that the Complainant was notified of the arrangements for the hearing.
Background:
The Complainant submitted a complaint of discrimination on 21 February 2025 to the Workplace Relations Commission. |
Summary of Complainant’s Case:
The Complainant did not attend the hearing. |
Summary of Respondent’s Case:
The Respondent attended the hearing. |
Findings and Conclusions:
The Complainant did not attend the hearing. I allowed twenty minutes after the allotted time before commencing proceedings. I am reasonably satisfied that the Complainant was informed of the arrangements for the hearing. I find that the Respondent did not engage in any prohibited conduct under the Equal Status Act 2000, as amended, due to the absence of evidence. |
Decision:
Section 25 of the Equal Status Acts, 2000 – 2015 (“the Acts”) requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under section 27 of that Act.
As the Complainant did not attend the hearing, I find that, due to the absence of evidence, the Respondent has not been shown to have engaged in prohibited conduct under the Acts. |
