Procedure:

In accordance with Section 39 of the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967 - 2014 following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the complaint. Both the Complainant and the Respondent did not attend the hearing though I am reasonably satisfied that both parties were aware of the arrangements for the hearing.

Background:

The Complainant asserted in her complaint form to the Workplace Relations Commission that she did not receive a redundancy payment on termination of her employment.

The Respondent did not attend the hearing.

Findings and Conclusions:

As the Complainant did not attend the hearing, I disallow the appeal under the Redundancy Payments Act 1967 due to a lack of evidence.

Decision:

Section 39 of the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967 – 2012 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under that Act.
