I certify that the Tribunal
(Division of Tribunal)
Chairman: Ms P. Clancy
Members: Mr T. Gill
Mr J. Flavin
heard this appeal at Limerick on 13th March 2015
The appellant in person
No appearance by or on behalf of the respondent
The appellant was employed by the 1st named respondent as a cleaner from 10th October 2005 until 5th April 2013.
The business of the 1st named respondent was taken over by the 2nd named respondent but this company did not require cleaners and therefore the appellant was let go by the 1st named respondent on 5th April 2013. However the appellant did not receive any redundancy payment.
At the time of termination of employment the appellant was earning €65.00 per week.
There was no appearance by or on behalf of the respondents and the Tribunal is satisfied that they were properly notified of the hearing.
Having considered the uncontested evidence of the appellant the Tribunal awards her a lump sum redundancy payment under the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 to 2007 based on the following criteria. The 1st named respondent is liable for this payment.
10th October 2005
Date notice received
5th April 2013
€65.00 per week
This award is made subject to the claimant having been in insurable employment, during the relevant period, in accordance with the Social Welfare Acts.
