There was no appearance by or on behalf of the respondent and the Tribunal is satisfied that she was properly notified of the date, time and place of the hearing.
Appellant’s case
The appellant stated that she commenced employment with the respondent on 26th October 1998 and was let go when the business closed down on 26th October 2012. At the time of termination of employment the appellant was being paid €400.00 gross per week. The appellant did not receive any payment from the respondent in respect of a lump sum redundancy payment.
Determination
Having considered the uncontested evidence of the appellant the Tribunal is satisfied that the appellant was dismissed by reason of redundancy.
The appellant is entitled to a redundancy payment under the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 to 2007 based on the following criteria:

Service: from 26th October 1998 to 26th October 2012
Normal weekly remuneration:€400.00
Amount of redundancy payment: €11,608.00
This award is subject to the claimant having been in employment, which is insurable for all purposes under the Social Welfare Consolidation Act 2005.
