Provision of Education/Training Awareness: Assessment Criteria

The WRC delivers a wide variety of outreach interventions to all sectors within its remit to promote good industrial relations and positive working relationships.

Typical engagements include issues relating to:

  • dispute resolution
  • conflict management
  • effective use of procedures and policies within the workplace.

Agreement to facilitate requests for training will be based on:

  • An assessment of the need for training arising from a recommendation of the Advisory Service in the context of industrial relations – for example a conclusion around a need for a more proactive dispute resolution capacity which would benefit from some training.
  • The degree to which WRC awareness training would promote improved industrial relations practice in the organisation.
  • Where parties, following or through engagement at conciliation mutually acknowledge/agree that they would benefit from the assistance of the Advisory service.

When reviewing requests, consideration will be given to the resource capability of the WRC to deliver training/education at the particular time of assessment.

You may contact the Commission's Advisory service at advisory@workplacerelations.ie
