CD/25/192 | RECOMENDATION NO. LCR23178 |
INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS ACTS 1946 TO 2015
SECTION 26(1), INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS ACT, 1990
PARTIES:
DUBLIN STREET PARKING SERVICES
(REPRESENTED BY IBEC)
AND
50 WORKERS
(REPRESENTED BY SIPTU)
DIVISION:
Chairman: | Ms Connolly |
Employer Member: | Ms Doyle |
Worker Member: | Ms Treacy |
SUBJECT:
Pay claim.
BACKGROUND:
This dispute could not be resolved at local level and was the subject of a Conciliation Conference under
the auspices of the Workplace Relations Commission. As agreement was not reached, the dispute was
referred to the Labour Court on 02 July 2025 in accordance with Section 26(1) of the Industrial
Relations Act, 1990.
A Labour Court hearing took place on 18 September 2025.
RECOMENDATION:
The Court has considered carefully the written and oral submissions of the parties.
The parties have engaged significantly but have failed to find agreement on a successor agreement to a pay agreement that expired on 31 December 2024.
The Court notes that the parties are agreed that any new pay agreement should apply for a three-year period.
The Court notes that a revised offer made by the employer was not put to ballot by union members.
Having regard to all of the circumstances and the background of engagement between the parties the Court recommends as follows:
- That a pay increase of 4.5% should take effect from 1 January 2025
- That a pay increase of 3 % should take effect from 1 January 2026
- That a pay increase of 3 % should take effect from 1 January 2027
- An increase in the annual loyalty bonus of €165 to bring the total value to €800 per annum.
The Court so recommends.
